Launching a coastal estate from scratch
Barrow Group were expanding into Plettenberg Bay, in the Western Cape, with Boardwalk Estate, a new coastal development that did not physically exist yet. There was no show house to walk, no finished units to photograph, nothing to point a buyer at except a plan and a place. What they needed was property development website design, and a social presence to go with it, ready for day one of the launch, so the sales team had somewhere to send every interested person from the very first enquiry.
- A development still to be built, with nothing physical to show
- A launch date that the digital presence had to be ready for
- A sales team that needed somewhere to send enquiries from day one
Selling a development that does not exist yet
Selling off-plan is a trust exercise. A buyer is committing to something they cannot walk through, so the marketing has to do the imagining for them: what the estate will be, where it sits, how life there will feel. The website had to carry that vision convincingly, and feel as finished as the development was not. In Plettenberg Bay, where buyers have plenty of coastline to choose from, that vision has to land fast. Off-plan buyers are cautious for good reason, so the site had to earn confidence, not just look good.
A Webflow site and social channels, live together
ThinkStory built the Boardwalk Estate site on Webflow and launched the social channels alongside it, so the brand arrived everywhere at once rather than in pieces. A prospective buyer who saw a post could land on a site that matched it, and the sales team had one coherent presence to point to. Building both together, rather than one and then the other, is what made the launch feel like a launch. A launch that dribbles out in pieces never feels like an arrival.
In market before the first show day
The point of all of it was timing. The site and the channels were live and working before the first show day, which meant the moment interest started, there was already a place to capture it. Launch a development without that in place and the early enquiries, the warmest ones, have nowhere to go. Momentum at launch is hard to rebuild once it is lost, and Boardwalk did not have that problem. The earliest enquiries are almost always the most serious ones.
Built for a moving sales process
A new property development needs, at launch, a place that makes the vision real and a way to catch interest the instant it appears. For Boardwalk Estate that meant a Webflow site and social channels, live together, from day one. Built on Webflow, the site could keep pace with a sales process that changes as units move, so it stayed useful well past the launch it was made for. A site that cannot keep up with the sales process quietly becomes a liability.
